Each bar is handcut, wrapped in plantable paper embedded with wildflower seeds, label printed with an eco-friendly wax-based ink, weighs at least 5 oz and measures 3 x 2 x 1.5″.
Can you still smell sweet privilege from under a rock? Do you breathe confirmation bias? Wash away inequality with a new, daily practice.
Forest for the Trees soap is a solid bar making an experiential statement through the senses. Olive, Coconut and Rice oils keep it all together wuth an essential oil blend of birch, pine, vetiver and a touch of vanilla anchored in various clays and invasive kudzu root. It’s great for shaving!
The bar came before the name: I was inspired by a forest of birch trees so blinding that nothing else could be seen without great effort. Seeing this as a metaphor for confirmation bias in social culture, I thought this was something to investigate in my favorite medium! Constructed of layers imbued with various clays decreasing in bold color, I think this is an ideal bar for introspection and taking inventory of privilege; and reassessing confirmation bias. Don’t rush it, there’s a lot more to this bar of soap and it’s important to consider all the trees. A portion of your purchase will be donated to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).
